Stream American Nomad’s New Album Country Mile
The Band: Bay Area acoustic band American Nomad
The Album: their debut Country Mile, produced by Grammy-winner Laurie Lewis for her label Spruce and Maple Music, out May 1.
Fun Fact: Hassan and Shiloh, the singer-songwriters behind American Nomad have many passions outside of music. Hassan loves words and is in the middle of writing a 300-page memoir about a long road trip he took across America hoping to break a bad case of writer’s block. Shiloh grew up in Alaska and is a highly skilled bow hunter. Sometimes she cooks game meat for the band before practice.
Liner Notes: “The title track of our new release Country Mile serves as the conceptual thread through the whole album. The phrase ‘country mile’ simply means an unknown distance. It symbolizes a travelers’ long, unfamiliar journey away from home, overcoming hardships and obstacles along the way and, finally, the emancipation of the spirit as the protagonist takes off on his own path. Our album explores the vulnerabilities exposed during the traveler’s journey and what is ultimately discovered within. We think of ourselves as modern-day troubadours tramping the sometimes dark and dangerous highways and byways of the human soul, sharing our tales of the road in poetry and song.”
