Stevie Nicks and Lady Antebellum Set for CMT Crossroads
CMT’s Crossroads program will bring together classic rock and contemporary country when Stevie Nicks joins Lady Antebellum in an upcoming episode, the country music channel announcedyesterday.
Nicks and her band Fleetwood Mac are preparing to embark on their first world tour since 2009, and are working up new songs for the shows.
Meanwhile Lady Antebellum haven’t announced a follow-up to 2011’s Own The Night, which scored the trio a Grammy for Best Country Album. The band did, however, release its first Christmas album last year, and is also gearing up for some sparse tour dates, planned around the upcoming birth of member Hillary Scott’s baby.
Mumford & Sons and Emmylou Harris Set for CMT Crossroads
Mumford & Sons and Emmylou Harris have been confirmed for an episode of CMT Crossroads. The show will be taped in Nashville this week to an invitation-only audience. The concert will feature the English folk rock band and the American singer-songwriter sharing the stage together and is set to air on September 20th. This will be Mumford & Sons first appearance on the show and Harris’ second; she previously shared the stage with Dave Matthews in 2004.
Mumford & Sons are releasing their sophomore album, Babel, on September 25. You can hear their first single, “I Will Wait” here.
Emmylou Harris is currently on tour and set to play an exclusive performance of her legendary album, Wrecking Ball, in Nashville on October 24th at Marathon Music Works.
Behind The Scenes With Kid Rock and Wynonna At The CMT Awards
Kid Rock and Wynonna Judd were scheduled to be onstage 30 minutes ago to rehearse a yet-to-be-determined song with the house band for the opening of the 2011 CMT Music Awards. An army of cameramen, crew, carpenters, producers, recording artists, musicians, and PAs nervously paced around the floor of the Bridgestone Arena. With the meter running at the Musician Union astronomical over-time scale, you could smell the tension mix with the fog machine smoke in the air. Our stage manager Russell got a call on his walkie. “We need John in Kid Rock’s dressing room. Bring a guitar.”
